EWIEWI CommunitiesMembership Benefits

By Judy Russell
2006-2007 Corporate President

On March 6, 2007, I joined with our EWI membership in the excellent opportunity to participate in a Professional Development Teleseminar presented by experts from member firm Dale Carnegie Training. The teleseminar focused on what we can do to develop a positive attitude. This topic of a positive attitude strikes a personal cord with me as I know it does you.

We all know a positive attitude matters and is a significant factor in our daily lives. It affects us in everything we do, and impacts those around us. Through our attitudes, we influence friends, family, and co-workers. I’ve come to know that based on

our attitude, people are either drawn to us or driven away from us.

In the months just before I became Chapter President of EWI of Tulsa, I was inspired by the FISH! Philosophy and its life applications, both personally and professionally. That year I made the effort to keep the philosophy in front of me and the EWI of Tulsa Chapter membership. We incorporated the core values of energy, passion and fun and the four dimensions of Have fun!Make their day!Be there! and Choose your attitude! into activities and programs throughout the year.

The Choose your attitude! especially continues to influence me. We make a choice every day, even several times a day, about our attitude - whether it will be positive or negative. I'd like to say I always make the right choice, but I don't. But I do know when my attitude is right, when I'm focused on the positive things in my life, in my family, in my career…in EWI…I'm able to function better personally and professionally.

So how do we turn around a negative attitude? What can we all do to keep a positive attitude? I encourage you to listen to a recording of the "EWI - Self Portrait" teleseminar “UNLOCK YOUR POTENTIAL: The Power of a Positive Attitude” to learn more about positive attitude matters.
