Reading Rally EWI READING RALLY VOLUNTEERS FOCUS ON LITERACY
Executive Women International (EWI) provided exposure to literature to
over 3,220 children, and another 14,000 more were reached through innovative
partnering and marketing. Over 678 volunteers devoted time, hard work
and funds to make their Reading Rally events successful. Their belief
that literacy is a worthy cause enables the Reading Rally to continue
to be a great success and grow each year. Sponsorships at the Chapter
level totaled over $20,000 for books, school supplies, food, crafts, personal
products, etc.
Scholastic, Inc., gave each Chapter “Scholastic Tool Kits”
and donated 600 books. Qwest Foundation and Random House Publishing each
donated another 500 books, and member firm Ingram Book Group from Nashville,
donated still more books. Member firm iDEX Creative Marketing of the Memphis
Chapter developed our T-shirt design including the slogan "Be a Leader
– Be a Reader”. Tayco Screen Printing & Embroidery of
Colorado Springs processed the t-shirts.
